Day 8 – Favorite Anime Couple

Day 8 – Favorite Anime Couple

This is probably one of my most favorite questions in the 30-day anime challenge and with all honesty did not take me too long to pick an answer. Romance had always been my favorite genre of all.

You may ask what would be the deciding factor? and what important aspects should be considered? To be frank with you I have tons of couples that I find most appealing and most of it are from bittersweet anime series so my criteria for judging would be based on the story itself and how the characters portrayed and played the part.

I would like to share some of my runner ups for this challenge…

Arima and Kaori (Your Lie in April)

One of my most favorite couples, the anime was truly beautiful and animated to perfection. I don’t want to spoil anyone who has never watched this series, all I can say is that they are one of the most heart touching couples you are going to come across.

Okabe and Kurisu (Steins;Gate)

I don’t need to say anything except for the fact that I am totally biased of this series(but in a good way). Well, what can I say from the part that Okabe and Kurisu was also a part of my top couple they didn’t make it as my #1 but they came in a close second with just some few points.

.. And finally my most favorite anime couple

Tomoya and Nagisa (Clannad, After Story)

Clannad will always be a special show for me as when I was starting out on watching anime. I was inspired to do my AMV(Anime Music Video) editing because of this show… Tomoya and Nagisa are a portrayal of a pair in love who vow to stay together irrespective of the hardships they are faced with.

This is just a beautiful show that no words can ever describe, Tomoya and Nagisa, really portrayed the feeling of love, care, and affection throughout only about 44 episodes. The 1st season was just of how they started getting to know each other but the after story was where the tears really start falling. When you see those two always being there for each other through all the hardships just make you wanna cry.

I don’t wanna spoil anymore but yeah it was truly a masterpiece series in the Slice-of-Life and Drama genre.

Thank you for reading all my thoughts, Let me guys know who are your favorite couples? See you guys on Day 9…

Till then.

Day 2 – Favorite Anime You’ve Watched So Far

We are up on Day 2 of our 30 Day Anime Challenge, and what seems to be the hardest question ever as an avid Anime fan, “Favorite Anime You’ve Watched So Far”

Basically, I have watched like around 100-200+ Anime’s in the span of more or less 10 years starting from high school.

During summer vacation, I would binge watch anime for a seemingly easy 30 episode/day and that was Katekyo Hitman Reborn! which is also a top anime from my list but anyway that isn’t the case for this challenge.

Many people would think it to be either, One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Code Geass, Attack on Titan, Tokyo Ghoul, Sword Art Online, and the list goes on.

If you were asking me this question from 5 years ago, I would pick Code Geass, in a later one I would pick One Piece, so yeah by years Anime Series are accumulating by number and I don’t know if my pick for this Challenge will be the same for the coming years.

So, without further ado.. here is my favorite anime that I have watched soo far…

Yeah, it’s the one and only “Steins; Gate”.

The show premiered on the 2011 season but I watched it on the 2014’s.. I actually made a review about this anime Anime Review: Steins;Gate .

The show is really amazing, it’s not too episodic (with 24 Episodes, an Ova and a Movie).. First of all, you have to understand that Steins;Gate is completely unique compared to other anime, in terms of story line. Now, with such a complex plot, it would be incredibly easy to mess the series up. Except that they didn’t. If they did, it wouldn’t be a masterpiece.

Steins;Gate explores the world of time traveling and time lines as what is also some of my favorite theme like “The Butterfly Effect”, once you change a minor thing of the past, the future transitions into one large scrambled egg. Once you pass the first slow starting episodes, the intrigue and mystery begin, and the pace of the series unravels.

The plot throws in numerous surprises and sudden, unexpected turns that, in turn, creates a powerful ending that is almost flawless. Also, you’re hit bluntly in the face with quite a lot of feels early on in the series.

So, yeah, without a doubt this is my favorite anime.

That’s all I have for Day 2!!!!! So what do you guys think? What is your favorite anime?

Anime Review: Steins;Gate

Anime: Steins;Gate
Episodes: 24 + 1 OVA + 1 Movie
Studio: White Fox
Aired: Apr 6, 2011 to Sep 14, 2011
Genres: Sci-Fi, Thriller
Just finished an Amazing anime series called Steins;Gate.

I didn’t watch it on 2011 since I was being skeptical about the theme and concept, also the first 2 episodes were really slow and could be somewhat boring since there are terms which are very hard to understand(But I guess it was part of the overall story)

This short anime is the single best time travel story ever created. It has amazing characters and well thought out time travel mechanics. I really like it because of the similar concept of one of my favorite movie “The Butterfly Effect” but instead using a so called time machine.

It isn’t some crazy time travel story where they go to the future or the past as they please, it is all about some small scale time travel, where they only go back two days or so at a time. It emphasizes small actions and how they impact everything through the butterfly effect. It shows you how every action you take matters and can change the entire world.

This show is the perfect blend of comedy, sci-fi, thriller, tragedy, romance, drama, and mystery. Few shows/movies have caused me to live my life differently, and this is one of them. You will never forget the mad scientist Okabe and the other members of the Future Gadget Laboratory.

I give it an overall score of 9.5/10.0

Watch it. El Psy Congroo~
