Day 6 – Anime You Want To See But Haven’t Yet

30-day-anime-challenge

Whats up guys! It’s Day 6 of the 30-day anime challenge, and we move to the next challenge “What anime you want to see but haven’t yet?”

This is a pretty straightforward challenge, though in the whole span of watching anime I have skipped a lot of series.

Well, let’s get this over with!

..

..

..

My pick is Samurai Champloo ..

I don’t know why I have the urge to watch this show, I just have a gut feeling that I will really be enjoying it.

I have actually passed this anime a couple of times but never really found the opportunity to binge watch it. Maybe because of this challenge I will finally start this anime.

Some of my notable choices: Gurren Lagann, Bakemonogatari Series, Monster, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures, Nana, Baccano … but yeah I believe it is going to take awhile due to my busy schedule, we will see!

Cheers! that is it for today’s challenge.

Day 5 – Anime You’re Ashamed You Enjoyed

30-day-anime-challenge

Now, this is something that you don’t get asked more often than not, What is the anime that you are ashamed that you really enjoyed? Well, for starters, it doesn’t make sense why would you be ashamed of something you enjoyed?

I am trying to decipher in my head what are the animes that I despise and yet I seemingly enjoyed, lmao this is a hard one.

I would pick something like too much ecchi maybe?, or a fugly story/plot or just animated really shitty with not so appealing CG and stuff… but in the case is that you enjoyed it!! but you are ashamed of it? LOL, I’ll be honest with you guys and whoever created this 30-day list, This question is total BS in my opinion.

Well I don’t wanna skip anything on this challenge so I will just answer it based on my own interpretation of the question, here it goes:

Highschool of the Dead … Goodbye!~

Kidding… Like really to be honest with you guys this is the very definition of the hype gone wrong. Before it released in 2010 where the hype of the post-apocalyptic era came to place and this show was expected to be a good representation of it in the anime world.

For those of you who don’t know, let me give you the main points of this anime: Zombies, Guns, Boobs and More Boobs!

That’s it, I’m not even kidding.

Gang-highschool-of-the-dead-31085513-1280-720

In all seriousness, this is one of the worst anime I’ve ever seen. Here is one of those anime that really struggles to understand what it’s trying to be. Simply put, this show is bad. It is bad on a rather insulting level too. What could have been an enjoyable zombie romp had to be castrated with annoying characters, stupid plot moments, inconsistent logic, unbelievable amounts of fan service, and moments that just make you scratch your head and wonder how this ever made it into production.

But yeah, I enjoyed every little bit of it (not for the reasons the creators would probably like) but then I can say I’m ashamed of that feeling. (because of that reason)

I would have already erased this past memory in me and this challenge made me remember it again, Hahaha lmao!

So what animes did you guys watch that you are ashamed that you enjoyed?

Till then!

Day 4 – Favorite Female Anime Character

30-day-anime-challenge

It’s the 4th day of my 30-day anime challenge, right after my favorite male character we move on to my favorite female anime character…

To be honest, I don’t really have one female character who really left a mark on me…(As I am a big shounen fan) There aren’t a lot of female characters that stand out, unlike their male counterparts.

Most people would have chosen in this challenge(IMO): Asuna from Sword Art Online, or Mikasa Ackerman from Shingeki no Kyojin, or Erza from Fairy Tail, or Nami from One Piece, or Hinata from Naruto, etc. and the list goes on.

My favorite male character was somewhat of a badass whilst with my pick for my female character is rather the opposite of it.

Here is my favorite Female Anime Character…

..

..

Shiina.Mashiro.full.1607930

Mashiro Shiina from Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo….

Isn’t she the most adorable female character would you think? I had few options to choose from like my first anime crush Belldandy from Ah! My Goddess, or Haruhi from Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

But yeah, Nothing beats Mashiro Shiina

She is btw a child prodigy, well known as a world famous artist. Although she is that prestige she knows nothing about anything except Art. She is very reliant on others just to get done of almost the basic of things and also lacks common sense.

She is very humble despite being successful at her practices, she doesn’t care about fame nor esteem, She is very obsessive with her passion even neglecting her sleep or basic needs just to get it done. She allows her emotions to control her actions as she doesn’t have any logical way of thinking like wrong way of expressing her feelings.(which is cute btw)

Though with all said and done, I believe that’s what makes her too charming and a lovable character for me.  The feeling that you want to take care of her and such. I’m not a big fan of strong characters which is why my choice for a female is quite the opposite of my male.

Well, that’s it for my Favorite Female Anime Character… Would love to hear your favorite Female Anime Character, feel free to comment down below!

Cheers Till then~

Day 3 – Favorite Male Anime Character

30-day-anime-challenge

We move on to Day 3 with the theme of who is my Favorite Anime Male Character… Looks like I am getting the hang of this 30-day challenge :D.

It’s not hard to find a male character in anime that you wouldn’t find it fascinating on. And more often than not, they have several predictable traits: has a way with the ladies. Or he may not. Will fight for the girl he likes. Will be unusually patient with a girl. Acts cool and stuff like that.

People in choosing their favorite character would either be because how he is designed as a character, how strong he is(when first he was weak), how his story has shaped and inspired you, how smart or witty he is, and many other factors that correspond to your interest and liking.

I have some friends who like characters similar to their personality so I believe that people who choose their favorite anime character correspond to their ideal one or who would they want to be if they were an anime character.

So without further ado here is my pick on my Favorite Male Anime Character,

..

..

..

It is Lelouch vi Britannia from Code Geass … I would have chosen Gintoki but then I would be lying to myself.

The anime aired at 2006-2007, and it has been a whopping 10+ years ever since I watched it and I can say I still find Lelouch as the best male anime character in my books.

So, let’s talk about Lelouch and why is he my favorite anime character.

3400301-code-geass-_-lelouch-code-geass-27887143-1364-768

Lelouch is the protagonist of the Code Geass series. He is the child of the royal family that leads Britannia (a country about 1/3 of the whole world). Lelouch’s mother was murdered and his sister was left blind and crippled, he was sent to the nation of Japan as a hostage.  He ends up under the care of the leader of the nation, until him and his little sister can escape.

With everything that has happened in his life, seeing the corrupt and violent nature of the royal family, the death of his mother and the uncaring nature of anyone who he comes across, Lelouch feels that the world has betrayed him.  His little sister is the only person who matters to him, at first.  However, there is a burning hatred inside that demands that he get revenge against Britannia and destroy the entire nation.  Something that he is very much intending to do.

One day just when he was caught up in a battle and met C.C who had supernatural powers. He made a contract with her(due to the circumstances) and was given his amazing power, the Geass. With that, he can control anyone he is making eye contact with to do anything. And now his legend starts.

zero.png

Lelouch does this through a masked persona called Zero.  He never shows his face to his allies, since he knows that they wouldn’t trust a Britannian.  And if they ever found out that he is a Britannian prince, they would likely kill him.  Thus, his masked campaign to bring down Britannia begins.

And that is basically the sum of who Lelouch is… if you have watched Death Note then you can have a similar reference to the show, the battle of wits and who kills who… But in this anime, it also involves the Mecha Genre which was cool if we compare it with the original Gundam.

Well, that is it for this challenge, hope you can check the Anime out and also let me know who is your favorite anime male character… till then!

Day 2 – Favorite Anime You’ve Watched So Far

30-day-anime-challenge

We are up on Day 2 of our 30 Day Anime Challenge, and what seems to be the hardest question ever as an avid Anime fan, “Favorite Anime You’ve Watched So Far”

Basically, I have watched like around 100-200+ Anime’s in the span of more or less 10 years starting from high school.

During summer vacation, I would binge watch anime for a seemingly easy 30 episode/day and that was Katekyo Hitman Reborn! which is also a top anime from my list but anyway that isn’t the case for this challenge.

Many people would think it to be either, One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Code Geass, Attack on Titan, Tokyo Ghoul, Sword Art Online, and the list goes on.

If you were asking me this question from 5 years ago, I would pick Code Geass, in a later one I would pick One Piece, so yeah by years Anime Series are accumulating by number and I don’t know if my pick for this Challenge will be the same for the coming years.

So, without further ado.. here is my favorite anime that I have watched soo far…

..

Yeah, it’s the one and only “Steins; Gate”.

The show premiered on the 2011 season but I watched it on the 2014’s.. I actually made a review about this anime Anime Review: Steins;Gate .

The show is really amazing, it’s not too episodic (with 24 Episodes, an Ova and a Movie).. First of all, you have to understand that Steins;Gate is completely unique compared to other anime, in terms of story line. Now, with such a complex plot, it would be incredibly easy to mess the series up. Except that they didn’t. If they did, it wouldn’t be a masterpiece.

steins-gate-main.jpg

Steins;Gate explores the world of time traveling and time lines as what is also some of my favorite theme like “The Butterfly Effect”, once you change a minor thing of the past, the future transitions into one large scrambled egg. Once you pass the first slow starting episodes, the intrigue and mystery begin, and the pace of the series unravels.

The plot throws in numerous surprises and sudden, unexpected turns that, in turn, creates a powerful ending that is almost flawless. Also, you’re hit bluntly in the face with quite a lot of feels early on in the series.

So, yeah, without a doubt this is my favorite anime.

That’s all I have for Day 2!!!!! So what do you guys think? What is your favorite anime?

Day 1 – Very First Anime You Watched

30-day-anime-challenge

The very first anime that I’ve watched if I remember it correctly(I was like 7-9 years oldish) was Ranma 1/2, before when television was a thing and that I would constantly watch anime and cartoons(Anime is different fyi) on TV a lot, though I don’t remember what channel I watched it(Cartoon Network maybe?), I am like 90% sure this is the first anime that I watched because this is the only anime that I could think of during those time.

EpisodesSlider

I never really did finish this series because I wasn’t that much hooked on anime til I reached high school when the internet-era emerged, and also social media started and everything else became available to watch online.

That is it for Day 1.

Anime Review – Tsuki ga Kirei

Episodes: 12
Studio: feel.
Aired: Apr 7, 2017 to Jun 30, 2017
Genres: RomanceSchool
“The true substance of love lies in the act of howling words of love with the desperation of a man jumping into high seas.”
Now, this is definitely a change of pace that’s something out of the norm, in an Era of mostly Seinen, Shoujo, Action, Fantasy, etc that has more seasons and complex stories, then you have Tsuki ga Kirei a gem of its own, a show which spans from a normal 12 episode season, with a completely direct plot of School-Romance cliche, in fact, my opinion this makes it an exceptional anime due to its simplicity.

Tsuki-ga-Kirei-01-31
The story is about Kotarou(aspiring Writer) and Akane(Member of the Track Team). It is the start of a new school year, and their final year. At first, they don’t know each other, you might have nostalgic moments by watching this anime as it portrays a slice-of-life genre as well in which you can relate back in the days. Although, before there were no social media and only text messages that we used before, the social media app LINE(which is famous in Japan), is one of the modes of communication used in the whole series.
525-tsukigakirei-07-01.png
The show is like a time machine of your Adolescent, school days in which puppy-love and infatuation is a common thing. It is an anime about pure, innocent and slow-pacing love in which I’m sure everyone can relate. As they develop feelings for each other they tackle on the mischiefs and difficulties that go hand in hand, like Jealousy, Envy, the acceptance of the relationship by the entourage and the friends, and family, you know all the common love woes, school woes and how could they move forward once they graduate, what plans they would have, or would they be together? Who knows! (No Spoiler)
525-tsukigakirei-07-02.png
The secondary characters are not abused(lack of screen time) as normal romance genre would have, they make the show much more exciting, provides some laughter and gives off pressure to the main protagonists as they develop their interests and objectives. Matching the astounding storytelling, what makes the characters so rational is that they all have their own respective backgrounds, quirks and set of values.
tablet_Mizuno-Akane-Azumi-Kotarō-anime-couple
I personally had a relaxing time watching this series, It was just too cute for me, I don’t want to make a deep review about this because as I’ve said the show is known for its Simplicity, It’s like you go on to a cinema and watch a movie but longer and at the end you feel happy and relieved.
If you are looking for a school-life romance with genuine relationships, I can definitely recommend this show for you not unless you prefer a school-life with more gags, laughs and eccentric characters, then this series is not for you.
I give it an overall score of 8/10.0
